Jo Ann McCracken Sandlin, 87, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at home. She was born June 9, 1932 to Walter “Sam” McCracken and Mary Boyd McCracken.
Jo Ann was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Crutcher and was well-known for her wallpapering skills. She loved spending time with her family, being outdoors watching hummingbirds, and playing cards with her friends. During football and baseball season, you could always find Jo Ann cheering on her favorite teams, the Alabama Crimson and the Atlanta Braves. She was a member of Oneal Church of Christ.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sandlin will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Guy McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Ramona Robinson; son, Tim Sandlin (Sharon); grandchildren, Casey Toone (Tommy), Shelby Newton (Chris), Jake Sandlin, Ben Sandlin and Sammy Sandlin; great grandchildren, Raelyn Toone and Brock Newton.
Preceded in death by her parent, Sam and Mary McCracken; husband Billy James Sandlin; sister, Rebecca Bullington; brother, Edward McCracken; son-in-law, Ronnie Wayne (R.W.) Robinson.
Pallbearers are Jake Sandlin, Ben Sandlin, Sammy Sandlin, Tommy Toone, Christopher Newton, Brock Newton and Wayne Lovell.
