Jackson County Deputies Arrest Suspect On Felony Drug Charges

SCOTTSBORO-On Thursday, May 21 the Jackson County sheriff’s Office issued a statement regarding the arrest of a suspect on Felony Drug charges with around 21 grams of ICE and other drugs on his possession:

“On Tuesday May 19, 2020, Game Wardens with the Alabama Dept. Of Natural Resources contacted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in regards to locating drugs on a subject in the Scottsboro City Park. After making contact with the suspect, DAKOTA TYLER MASON, 26, of Woodville, the Game Wardens found that Mason had outstanding arrest warrant with the AL Dept. of Natural Resources for Failure to Appear in court on several hunting violations.

MASON was detained and a JCSO Patrol Deputy responded to assist. During an inventory of the suspect’s vehicle approximately 21 GRAMS of METHAMPHETAMINE (Ice), a small amount of MARIJUANA, a single ALPRAZOLAM (Xanax), two baggies of an unknown white powder, approximately 1/2 GRAM of HEROIN and drug paraphernalia were located and seized.

Two firearms, a Glock model 22 .40 caliber pistol and a 12 gauge shotgun were also located, along with a set of brass or metal knuckles.

The Jackson County Narcotics Unit was contacted and responded to assist in this investigation. MASON remains in the Jackson County Jail and bond has not yet been set as to the felony charges in this case.”
