Billy Nolan Drake Billy Nolan Drake, 89, of Athens, Alabama, and formerly of Madison, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in his home from complications related to Parkinson’s disease. Born in Madison, AL, October 19, 1930, Billy lived in the city the majority of his life. He owned and operated Nolan Hills Water Works and Lady Ann Lake until his retirement. He loved the city of Madison and its people. He was a longtime member of the West Huntsville Church of Christ. His gentle spirit and kind demeanor will be missed by all.
He leaves his wife, Betty Taylor Drake; son, Billy Wayne Drake; daughter, Sallie Drake Scott; grandsons, Dewayne Drake and Michael Wade Foxworth; granddaughters, Shannon Drake Clift, Charla Drake Weaver, Abby Drake Savage, Megan Drake Burnett, Lilly Anne Scott, Channing Elizabeth Scott, and Kylie Joy Scott; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Louise Drake; father, Nolan Hayden Drake; and mother, Willie Kate Drake.
There will be a private family service. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org.
