On May 12, 2020, Ms. Mary Sue Byrd, Age 82, of Fayetteville, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on September 20, 1937, in Franklin County, TN to the late Alex and Earline Reed Montgomery.

Mary was a member of the Marble Hill Methodist Church in Lynchburg. She loved her family dearly and loved traveling with them, especially to ballgames. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, traveling to baseball games, as she was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She worked in the contract food service industry on Redstone Arsenal until her retirement.

Survivors include her children, Sherrie (Larry) Watson of Athens, AL, Vickie (Danny) Woods of Summerville, AL, Nicki (Carl) Urban of Fayetteville, Carlton (Kim) Elliott of Madison, AL, James Robert Meeks of Huntsville, AL, and Mary Jo Byrd (Walter Dulaney) of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Danna (Monty) Hardiman, Patrina Swinford, Greg (Tanya) Watson, Chris Watson, Trista Hanvey, Jerrel Hanvey, Joseph Woods, Michael (Amy) Woods, Morgan Chisowsky, Ethan Elliott, Keri (Tyler) Eaton, Taylor (Terry) Martin, and Kattie Dulaney; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great great granchildren; and special friends Kathy Choate, Mary Moore and Brenda Wade. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her children, Diane Burton and Dossie Ray Elliott; grandson in law, Ryan Sherrer; brothers, Emmet Montgomery and Austin Montgomery; and special friend, Mary Ann Motley.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public gathering at this time. A private family service will be at Taylor Cemetery in New Market, AL with Bro. Roy Hopkins officiating. The family invites you to share memories at higginsfh.com.
