Doris Ginn Moody, born September 21, 1943 in Belmont, Ms. went home peacefully to glory on November 26, 2012 while surrounded by family in Mobile, Al. As a Christian, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and trusted friend, Doris made her mark on numerous lives. Hard work was never far from her. The early years were spent in the cotton field and waiting tables. Many hometown people knew her as “Cricket” from her time running up and down the basketball court in Belmont. She spent many hours working in the local factory before starting The County Shopper. She ultimately found her true calling- molding young lives through teaching in the public school system. She stood by her husband through the battle of war and the battle of cancer, raised two daughters to be strong, Christian women, and touched many lives with the right words at the right time. Throughout her life, Doris gave guidance to so many she did not even realize she had affected for the better. Sharing the love of Christ just days before her homecoming, leaves no doubt she is celebrating eternal life in heaven where we will see her beautiful smile again.
