Peggy Ruth Bates, age 90, passed away late Tuesday in Lexington. She was born October 28, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Howard and Ruth Stewart Bates. She was retired from Johnson Controls. Survivors include her cousins, George (Katherine) Stewart, Robert Kent Stewart, Gloria Duke, and Billy Charles Stewart; and her nephew, Mark Braun. Private, family only graveside services for Ms. Bates will be Thursday at Palestine Cemetery. Because of the Covid-19 concerns, and respecting the 10 or less group size, for the safety of everyone’s family there will be no visitation or services at Pafford Funeral Home.
