The Alabama Department of Public Health released demographic data Tuesday on confirmed infections and deaths.  Of the 39 verified deaths in the state, 17 were in African American patients and 17 were white. The remaining five were Asian or unknown.

There are still deaths attributed to COVID-19 that have yet to be confirmed by the Alabama Public Health Department.  These deaths are showing less racial disparities with whites representing nearly half of these cases while blacks were about a third of these cases.
