Glen Stewart

Glen Stewart entered this life March 18, 1931, the first born of five children in Fort Payne, Alabama to the late Gleanner Chambliss and Eugene Stewart.  He departed this earthy life on March 26, 2020.

He accepted Christ and was baptized at the First Baptist Church (Douglas) of Fort Payne.  After graduating from Frederick Douglas High School, Glen went on to attend Alabama State College in Montgomery, Alabama.  During this time in school is where he met and eventually married his devoted mate of 63 years Barbara Wilson in August 1952.

Glen went on to move his family to Tuscumbia in 1959.  He united with the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia, AL where he was also a member of the choir.  He eventually retired from Ford Motor Company (Muscle Shoals, AL) and subsequently General Motors (Decatur, AL).  Glen loved to sing, play cards, and had a long time fascination with planes and trains.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Barbara W. Stewart, his brother; Howard G. Stewart, and his sister; Margaret J. Smith.

He is survived by his children; Carolyn L. Stewart, Tuscumbia, AL; Gregory W. Stewart (JoAnn), Tuscumbia, AL; Danita S. Billins (Norris), Stone Mountain ,GA. Grandsons; Gregory W. Stewart II, Huntsville, AL; Avery E. Stewart, Tuscumbia, AL.  Brother; Reverend Herbert Stewart (Phyllis), Franklin, OH.  Sister; Shirley S. McKinney, West Chester, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, relatives, and friends.
