Steve Montgomery Barry Steven “Steve” Montgomery, age 59, of Littleville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at his residence.

Steve was a hard worker, who had worked previously with the City of Littleville for 18 years, was a member of the Littleville Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years; and had worked several years at the SCA Tissue Plant. He was a good, kind, and the most down to earth and loving man. Everyone who knew him, loved him. He enjoyed camping, being outside, or working on his wood working, and was a devoted Alabama fan, Roll Tide. Steve loved his God and his family above anything else. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa. He always said “Pam was his heart and his safe place”, and he was so proud of his kids, Noah and Holly. He adored his only grandson, Asher, and they shared a beautiful bond together.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Bro. Steve Amos will speak at the service.

He was preceded in death by parents, J.L. “Red” and Dot Montgomery; sister, Lona Ann Vandiver; and father-in-law, Hollis Ray Smith.

The pallbearers will be Joe Benson, Bill Gilley, Terry Cox, Jimmy Winsted, Sr., Jimmy Winsted, Jr., and Wes Hogue. The honorary pallbearers will be Adam Montgomery and Shawn Vandiver.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Dr. Felix Morris and his staff, the nurses and staff at North Alabama Medical Center, and to the nurses and physical therapy of Keller Home Health for your love and care of our family.
