It is with great sadness that the family of James Elbert Terrell announce that on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 he gained his wings and has gone home, he was 84 years old. Mr. Terrell lived a full life with his family which has left so many precious memories for his loved ones. He worked hard and retired from Wolverine. After retirement he spent time doing many things with his family which includes time spent on Smith Lake and at his home in Huntsville Alabama. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Annie Ruth, and his daughters, Janice Phillips, Teresa (Fred) Bagnall and Myra (Ron) Curtis. Pa Terrell will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Markita (Eric) Ford, Jennifer (Jeremy) Campbell, Robbie (Sheri) Phillips, Omar (Laura) Phillips, Kevin (Megan) Curtis, Jeremiah (Allyson) Curtis, Phillip Bagnall, and Caleb (Natasha) Curtis; his great grandchildren Justin, Ben, Larry, Charlie and Julia of Markita, Alex of Jennifer, Shelby and Junaleigh of Robbie, Gloriannah, Ella and Hannah of Omar, Zadie of Kevin, Michael and James of Jeremiah; Hannabeth, Ryleigh, Caleb Jr and Lorelei of Caleb his great great grandchildren Aidyn, Breelyn, Jackson and Brooks of Justin, Rayne of Alex and Keagan and Terran of Julia.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hubert H. Terrell and Gladys Hornbuckle Terrell; and his siblings, Elendra “Dude” Terrell, Ruby Lee Nappier, Horace Terrell, and William (Sonny) H. Terrell.
There will be a grave side burial held on Friday March 27th, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Union Grove Cemetery with only immediate family members. Due to restrictions made necessary by COVID-19, there will be a Celebration for James Terrell at a date and time to be determined later so that all who loved him may attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family request you make a donation to your favorite charity in Pa’s name or plant a tree to remember him.
