FLORENCE-On Sunday, March 23 the Shoals Theatre and The Gingerbread Players issued an open letter to the theatre patrons in the Shoals:
“It is with heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of both the Gingerbread Players Production of “The Many Disguises of Robin Hood” and the Zodiac Players Production of “The Case of Humanity Vs. Pontius Pilate” as well as the postponement of “Mickey Buckins Birthday Celebration.” All tickets purchased for Robin Hood and Pontius Pilate will be eligible for a refund. We are currently working on scheduling a new date for the Mickey Buckins concert and will announce that as soon as possible. All tickets currently purchased will be honored on the new date once it is determined.
With the ongoing state of affairs, we feel as if it is in the best interest of both our Patrons and the Shoals Community Theatre to follow the request of the CDC in practicing “social distancing” and the cancellation/postponement of large gatherings to help slow the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus.  We want to thank you for your continued support of the Shoals Community Theatre and ask that you bear with us as we navigate these uncharted waters and stay posted to both our social media channels and our email blasts for updates on other future events.

“Thank you for the huge number who auditioned for Matilda. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel due to many circumstances beyond our control. The Gingerbread Players hope to stage a different show in July. Please stay aware of announcements here on social media and stay safe and well during this unprecedented time in our nation.

Want to support the Theatre during this unprecedented time?
As has been the case with other non-profit organizations around the country, efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 have affected the Shoals Theatre in the form of cancelled and postponed events. While this is most decidedly unfortunate, the Theater will survive and the stage will once again play host to productions, concerts, and various events! Until then, we act in the best interest of our community and our patrons. If you would like to support the Theatre during this unprecedented event, we have made all of our in-house merchandise available for purchase online. Any purchases made will be shipped in a timely manner. Thank you all for your continued support of the Shoals Community Theatre. We will see you on the other side of this!
