THE SHOALS-A message from the Shoals Economic Development Authority concerning the COVID-19 Pandemic:

“Here at the Shoals Economic Development Authority, we are taking the Coronavirus seriously. We are monitoring the fluid situation surrounding COVID-19 and the CDC’s recommendations. As we walk through a lot of unknowns, we will try to provide information and resources as needed. We ask that you support local businesses and industries in whatever way you feel comfortable. Whether that be buying a gift-card for later use, purchasing a to-go dinner, etc. Local industries are encouraged to take actions to ‘flatten the curve’ such as: offsetting shift changes so an incoming shift does not pass an outgoing shift at the time clock, having non-essential employees work remotely, wiping down high touch-points like door handles more frequently, etc. If your company is taking precautions that you feel others need to know about, please let us know. We hope everyone is practicing their social distancing and upping their hygiene routine, if needed. Remember to take deep breaths and take one day at a time. We will come out stronger on the other side!”

WORKING FROM HOME

Due to this situation, many employers are having their employees work remotely. As this can be very challenging for those who have never worked in this environment before, we asked some of our Remote Shoals Residents for a few tips on working from home and gathered their responses in this blog post. Please read through them or share with anyone you know who might benefit from this type of information.
