COLBERT COUNTY-On Tuesday, March 17 County commissioners voted unanimously to protect the heath of the public and employees during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by closing the Colbert County courthouse.
Probate Judge Daniel Rosser will be able to hold necessary commitment hearings as required. All deadlines for purchasing tags,titles, and licenses will be extended to accommodate those without computer or mail access. According to District Attorney Bryce Graham the district attorney’s office will be open on a limited basis.
“By resolution of the County Commission at it’s Emergency meeting today, the Colbert County Courthouse will close today at 4:30 P.M. and shall remain closed until 8:00 A.M. April 6th.
Citizens needing services from the Probate office and Revenue Commissioners office are encouraged to take advantage of online services.

Sheriff’s office will continue to operate with the exception of in person pistol permit applications.
Judicial offices will be accessible with some restrictions. Guidelines will be provided tomorrow.
Household Garbage pickup will continue with no interruption.
East Colbert Senior Center is closed to group activities, but meals will be available to members for pick-up.
EMA and emergency services will continue to function.
Water Department offices are closed to the public, but water service will continue without interruption.
Alabama Cooperative Extension Office in the Courthouse will be closed.
Commission meeting scheduled for tonight at 5:00 P.M. is canceled.”
