Decatur/Morgan County Hold Joint Press Conference Monday Discuss COVID-19

DECATUR– On Monday, March 16 the City of Decatur and Morgan County officials held a joint press conference at Decatur City Hall to discuss plans for the COVID-19 Panemic.

Four people have been tested at Decatur Morgan Hospital for the new coronavirus and hospital officials anticipate the test results will be returned as early as today, hospital CEO Nat Richardson said.  Richardson, said, “They will remain in the hospital until we get the results and, or we feel that they can go home and stay in a quarantined environment until those results are received from the state.”

Richardson also said the distribution of face masks has been tightened at this time.

 

Officials ask that all those in the Decatur and Morgan County areas to follow the guidelines posted by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
