Some Area Cities Hold Press Conferences Concerning COVID-19 Pandemic Monday March 16

TENNESSEE VALLEY– On Monday, March 16 several area Mayors and City Officials will be holding press conferences to give update information on the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

Mayor Tommy Battle, Madison Mayor Paul Finley, Emergency Management Agency Director Jeff Birdwell, and local health care and public safety partners will hold a news conference on Monday, March 16, at noon to update the public on the COVID-19 response.  The news conference will be held in the Engineering Conference Room of the City of Huntsville’s Public Services Building, 320 Fountain Circle. It will be streamed live on the City of Huntsville’ Facebook page

Officials from the City of Decatur and Morgan County will host a joint press conference tomorrow morning (Monday, March 16) at 11:00 a.m. on the 7th Floor of Decatur City Hall regarding their COVID-19 response.  A spokesperson from Decatur Morgan Hospital will also be at the press conference.

Florence Mayor Steve Holt will be joined by Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director George Grabryan; Russell Pigg, CEO of North Alabama Medical Center; Dr. Jimmy Shaw, superintendent of Florence City Schools; and Donna Fisher, VOAD director.  They will address members of the press on Monday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Florence Council Auditorium on Pine Street.

On Monday, March 16 at 1:00PM a joint press conference will be held at the DeKalb County Commission Chamber on Grand Avenue. The update will be given by both the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the DeKalb County Commission.

They will be joined by representatives from the following organizations from DeKalb EMA, DeKalb Ambulance Services (DAS), Fort Payne City Schools, DeKalb County Schools, DeKalb Regional Medical Center, Fort Payne Police Department, Fort Payne Fire and Alabama Department of Public Health.
