Lenora Word, age 84, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
She was born in Minor Hill, TN on March 14, 1935 to the late James Albert and Queenie Estella Camp Jones. She was retired from Maremont Gabriel Corp., a member of the Minor Hill Saddle Club and a member of the Booth Chapel Church of Christ. Preceding her in death was her husband, Dayton Word, her son, Morris Word, her brothers, Ollie Jones, Rabon Jones, Grady Robinson, Oneal Jones, Leroy Camp, Clifton Jones, John Jones, and Elmer Jones, and her sisters, Nina Forsythe and Annie Bell Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Smith and husband Tom of Leoma, TN, her brother, James David Jones and wife Frances of Athens, AL, her sister, Myra Shelton of Winter Haven, FL, her grandchildren, Zachary and wife Tessa Smith, Jamie Collins and husband Cameron, Hanna Beth Robbins, and Joshua Smith, and her great grandchild, Mela Smith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with the burial to follow in Minor Hill Cemetery.
