Funeral service for Linda Gale Plyler (Nelson), age 79, will be Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home with Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating. Burial will be at Herring Cemetery next to her husband, Charles. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Linda Gale Plyler (Nelson) was born in Morgan County Alabama on August 8th, 1940 to Marcus Nelson and Mary Eunice Penn Nelson. She passed away on February 19, 2020 in Melbourne, Florida. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Plyler Sr; her parents, Marcus and Eunice Nelson; two sisters, Hilda Shadrick and Norma Busenlehner; son-in-law, Arthur Oaks; mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Colen Plyler; brothers-in-law, Glynn Merchant, Ralph Plyler, Michael Finley, Bert Shadrick and Dickie Busenlehner.
Linda is survived by her children, Dorothy Oaks of Jonesboro, GA, Charles Plyler Jr (Julie) of Melbourne FL, and Kenneth Plyler of Dora, Al. Linda is also survived by her brother, Gregory Nelson (Susan) of Birmingham, AL, her grandchildren, Tammy Oaks, Jillian Plyler, Lindsay Plyler, Susanna Plyler, Trey Plyler, Grace Plyler, Mary Plyler, 3 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Linda Merchant and Delta Finley as well as many other family and friends.
