Bonnie Shipes Smith, 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 20th. She was born Bonnie Shipes to Henry and Mattie Shipes on January 3, 1935 in Graceville, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Taylor Smith and her son, Steven Richard Smith. She is survived by her son, David Taylor Smith (Sheila) of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Susan Tuck Smith (Tim), of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Hilary Tuck (Eric), Trevor Tuck, Ben Tuck, Caroline Smith, Lauren Smith, and Andrew Smith; two sisters, Opal Newsome and Ruby Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was a retired registered nurse and a wonderful seamstress and cook. She was a former member of Tullahoma Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN; and most recently Brownsboro Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.
There will be a graveside memorial service on Friday, February 28 at 2 p.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Reverend Joseph Cooper officiating. All family and friends are welcome. Berryhill Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
