Morgan County Sheriff’s Department Arrest Suspect On Several Drug Charges

MORGAN COUNTY-On Friday, February 21 the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement regarding an arrest of a suspect on several drug related charges:

“On Thursday, February 20 2020, Deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a reckless driving call and conducted a traffic stop on I 65 North Bound near Mile Marker 332 for improper lane usage. The vehicle failed to yield for approximately 2 miles before finally coming to a stop.

Deputies made contact with the driver who identified himself as Scott James Williamson, 56 of Mt. Juliet TN.

Deputies smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Williamson was then detained and a probable cause search of the vehicle was then conducted, due to the odor of marijuana.

Upon search Deputies recovered:
▪️over $6,000 in currency,
▪️multiple plastic bags containing marijuana,
▪️a quantity of “Acid” LSD,
▪️THC wax,
▪️Multiple THC vape pens, ▪️unknown pills,
▪️a plastic bag containing methamphetamine,
▪️a bottle containing a liquid substance known as “G” or GHB
▪️various drug paraphernalia

Deputies contacted Agents with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit. Once on scene, Agents charged Williamson with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine.

He was then transported to the Morgan County Jail with a bond set at $3,800. More charges are possible, pending further investigation.
