Mrs. Hilda "Susie" Sue Hunkeapillar Mrs. Hilda “Susie” Sue Hunkeapillar, age 77, of the Union Hill community of Morgan County, died on Friday, February14, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Hunkeapillar was born on June 19, 1942 in Morgan County to the late Grade Thomas and Nora Ellis Culbreath Thomas and has lived in the Union Hill community area all of her life. Susie was a very busy lady, as she worked for General Motors as a job setter, and retired later in her career. She had many hobbies; reading western novels, engaging in her church, raising her great-grandson, having breakfast with her friends, and showing her silky terriers. Susie was a member of the New Canaan Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hunkeapillar is survived by her two daughters. Donna Ann Hunkeapillar, and Debra Gayle Hunkeapillar; grandson, Thomas Wayne Byrum; an great-grandchildren, Jessi Goostree, Jospeh Goostree, and Gauge Byrum, whom Susie and her late husband, Emmitt raised.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunkeapillar was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Wayne Hunkeapillar; and her daughter, Lucy Darlene Hunkeapillar.
A visitation for Mrs. Hunkeapillar will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hunkeapillar will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Februay 17, 2020 at the New Canaan Baptist Church in Morgan County with Bro. Eldridge Criscoe and Bro. Robert Cruise officiating. Susie will lie-in-state from 10 – 11a.m. and burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Union Grove.
