Tennessee Woman Dies In Head-On Collision Near Scottsboro

SCOTTSBORO -The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident  which occurred on Wednesday, February 12 that has taken the life of one person:

“A two-vehicle crash at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, has claimed the life of a South Pittsburg, Tennessee woman.

Sandra Dee Richardson, 58, was a passenger in a 2015 Honda Accord driven by Melissa Carol Merritt, 64, of Jasper, Tennessee. Merritt’s vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lane of U.S. 72 and collided head-on with a 2015 Honda Accord. Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for their injuries.

The crash occurred three miles west of Scottsboro. Nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.”
