  Mr. John Wayne FreemanMr. John Wayne Freeman, age 81, of Huntsville, passed away on February 8, 2020 at Hospice Family Care of Huntsville.
Mr. Freeman was born on September 15, 1938 in Louisiana to Frank Pierce Freeman and Sally Mae Wicker Freeman. He was married to the late Doris Jean Nestler Freeman who passed on October 5, 2019. He retired in 2003 from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms where he served as the Resident Agent in Charge and Special Agent in Huntsville, AL. John was a member of the Arab Masonic Lodge #663, and previously served as a Past Master. Mr. Freeman was also member of the Scottish Rites, York Rites, Shriners, ATF Association of Retirees & NRA. His hobbies included traveling, golfing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of Arab First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his daughter, Stacie Lurenz (Fred); grandchildren, Chelsey Marie Freeman (Elliot Long), Addyson Lurenz, Adien Lurenz; brother, Robert Freeman. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Freeman is preceded in death by his son, John “Johnny” Wayne Freeman, Jr.; brothers, Billy Pierce Freeman, James Freeman; sister, Sara Freeman Grass.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Dr. Steve West, officiating. Burial will follow in Brookwood Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing. Pallbearers will include; Fred Lurenz, Ricky Johnson, Brandon Kilpatrick, Alvin Johnson & J.W. Moon.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
