Mrs. Shirley Jean Cox, age 79 of Clanton, AL passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Cox was born on July 16, 1940 in Athens, AL to Edgar V. Shores and Sudie Elizabeth Shores.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Tonja Baugher.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Curry; grandchildren, Hollie Bishop Levins, Eric Bishop, Dusty Hall, Lachelle Roberts, Brittany Marsh and Jarrett Baugher; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cox enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandkids and church family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Cox at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Evans Cemetery with Randy Johnson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Eric Bishop, Kyland Bishop, Kameron Bishop, Avery McCarley, Casyn Elrod, Latin Stewart and Jarrett Baugher.
