Eunice Avery Hutchinson

Eunice Hutchinson, 102 of Athens, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Limestone Health Facility. She was born September 30, 1917 in Whitesville, GA to Dr. R.M. Avery and Eunice Leigh Hale Avery. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Hutchinson, Jr. and her siblings.

Mrs. Hutchinson worked in the Registrar’s office at Auburn University, and taught math at Athens Public Schools. She was a member of PEO. She loved Auburn, Elk River, arrowhead hunting, playing bridge, the Braves, teaching and traveling.

She is survived by one son, F.W. (Chip) Hutchinson III (Eleanor) of Athens, AL; one daughter, Susie Fogg of Athens, AL; three grandchildren, Tennille Luginbill (Tom) of Waxhaw, NC; Michelle Zirnis of Nashville, TN; Bo Hutchinson (Cassie) of Smyrna, GA; four great-grandchildren, Quaid Luginbill, Keaton Luginbill, Kiyah Zirnis, and Kamdon Zirnis.

There will be a memorial service Monday, February 10, 2020 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Athens, AL, with a reception to follow.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
