SCOTTSBORO-On Thursday, February 6 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency released an update on the vehicle that was lost due to the raising swift water of South Soddy Creek:

“As of this morning, Thursday, February 6, two State Park Rangers have begun walking the banks of South Sauty Creek. They will attempt a two-mile hike to Morgan’s Cove in search of the vehicle. I have attached a picture which shows the water conditions today at the location where the vehicle went into the water. The picture was taken from the Jackson County side of the creek. As you can see, the water level has risen several feet above yesterday’s water level.

Officials with Alabama State Parks will also be putting together a two-week schedule of volunteers and state park officials that will help in the search efforts if the vehicle and missing person have not been located. “
