Shirley Franks Kelley SHIRLEY FRANKS KELLEY

Was born May 27, 1940 in Flatwoods, TN to the late Jimmy & Lessie Holt Franks. The oldest daughter of five children, she departed this life on January 26, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital at the age of 79 years and 8 months.

She was united in marriage to David Kelley on October 5, 1973.

She worked in the garment & manufacturing industry around the Clifton and Waynesboro areas for several years and was a faithful Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Clifton.

In 1989 she & David moved to Selmer and opened Bale Fashions. A few years later they opened a second store in Henderson which was her passion and vocation until the day of her home-going. She was an accomplished seamstress, gardener and never backed up from hard work. She was loved by all who knew her and especially enjoyed visiting with the many friends and customers who would drop by her store.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years Larry David Kelley, one daughter Pam Riley of Nashville, TN. Two sons, Mike Riley (Sherry) of Waverly, TN and Jeff Kelley (Amy) of Stantonville, TN. Four grandchildren, Tiffany Brown (Patrick), Hunter Riley, Lydia Kelley & Luke Kelley. Three great-grand children Ian, Elijah & Jason Brown. One brother, William Franks and one sister Dexter (Jerry) Webster both of Flatwoods, TN. A special niece and family Kim Olinde (Roger), Blaise & Gracie of Brandon, MS as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers EJ Franks & Gene Franks.
