Mary Burks, 88 years old of Hillsboro passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at NHC Healthcare. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Gillespie, Bro. Jackie Hill and Bro. Dan Compton officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery Lauderdale County, Anderson, Alabama .
Mrs. Mary was a devoted and loving wife of Reverend Milton Burks for 67 years. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible and loved to read and work her Search word puzzles.
Survivors include her son: Charles Burks, two grandchildren: Brad Burks (wife, Nichole) and Beth Guin (husband, Clay), two great grandchildren: Luke Burks and Natalie Guin, two special granddaughters: Emily and Allison Alred, a sister: Judy McConnell, and a brother: D.W. Kieff.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years: Reverend Milton S. Burks, her parent: Earl and Reba Kieff, two brothers: Joe Kieff and Jimmy Kieff, and one sister: Ardena Williams.
Pallbearers will be Danny Roden, Tim Waldrep, Tommy Williams, Tony McConnell, and Jeremy Alred, Chad Townsend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon’s International.
