Mrs. Delaine B. Strickland, 76, of Spruce Pine, Alabama, passed away January 17, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. A native of Opelika, Alabama, she had lived in the Russellville area all of her adult life. She was a retired secretary with the Russellville City School System and had worked at both Wal-Mart and for the City of Russellville. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommie Romine, Steve Romine, Mike Buckingham, James McCarley, Joel McCarley, and Jerry McCarley. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband Roy N. Strickland; daughter Sheree Canida and husband Neal; grandsons: Matthew Tyra and fiancé Amanda, and Seth Tyra; sister Delores Huling and husband Charles; brother-in-law Mike Carroll; sister-in-law Mary Ann Motley; and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceeding her in death were her parents Florine Buckingham and Garland (GG) Buckingham; son Nick Strickland; brother Doug Buckingham; sisters: Vera Arnold, Betty Romine, Christina Sherrer, Barbara (Bobbie) Carroll, and Nadine Buckingham.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
