Evelyn Pauline Fortenberry, 86, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020. A Celebration of Life for Ms. Fortenberry will be on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 11:00 am at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery. Ms. Fortenberry was born on November 27, 1933 to parents, Earl and Nancy Smith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. Ms. Fortenberry was a strong lady and raise 7 children on her own. She had a special way of making each of her children feel like they were her favorite. Family was one of the most important parts of life for her. She enjoyed having a home full of children. Ms. Fortenberry loved fashion and took pride in her appearance. A way to put an instant smile on her face was to bring her clothes and jewelry. She loved Jesus and was baptized at 16th Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her. Ms. Fortenberry is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son, Jerry Patrick. She is survived by her children, William Jr., Jackie (Doris), Frankie (Teresa), Deborah (Stanley), Danny, and Joyce (Louie Cottingham); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren Pallbearer will be Wayne Lindey, Bobby Brown, Steven Smith, Michael Chittum, Shane Smith, and Patrick Smith.
