Funeral Service for Clyde Wesley Hooten, age 97, of Cullman, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Corinth Baptist Church with Ronnie Jetton, Buchanan Jackson, and Sherman Bailey officiating; interment in Corinth Baptist Cemetery. He will lie-in-state prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hooten passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at his residence. He was born May 13, 1922, to Eddie F. and Vera Hooten.

Clyde was in construction and farming all of his life and served two years in the military during World War II. His goals in life were to love and honor his Lord and love his family, friends, and all people. He was, indeed, a people-person.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Opalene Hooten; parents; and siblings, Bessie (Calvin) Pitts, John (Betty) Hooten, Doug (Chloe) Hooten, Arnice (Welton) Rutledge, Ruby (Bill) Allred, Imogene (Calvin) Creel, Dale (Wayne) Scott, Betty (Paul) Moore, and Frances Hall.

Survivors include his sons, Gary (Candace) Hooten and Barry (Lynn) Hooten; grandchildren, Shelly (Kent) Windham, Hesston (Ashley) Hooten, Haley (Tyler) Gary, Hayden (Thayane) Hooten, Kindra (Dwight) Edwards, Blake (Haley) Nail, and Deborah (Cesar) Ribas Flamarion; great-grandchildren, William and James Windham, Hayla, Hudson, Holden, Hayes, Avalyn, Callie, and Asher Hooten, Chloe and Cullman Gary, Avea Grace Miller, Dakota and Tyler Edwards, Parks and Evelyn Nail; brother-in-law, Marston Hall; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and family.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Footprints Abroad Ministries, PO Box 2396 Cullman, AL 35056.
