WAYNESBORO – The Wayne County Tennessee Sheriff, Shane Fisher tells the Quad Cities Daily that the arrest of a Russellville, Alabama nursing home owner-director is not the last anticipated action in the large illicit drug manufacturing operation which was busted two weeks ago just north of the Alabama-Tennessee State Line. “The investigation is far from over,” said Fisher.

Mark Steven Dearman

On Thursday, Mark Steven Dearman, 45, of Russellville turned himself in to the Sheriff. He was booked on the same charges as Russellville Ophthalmologist and Muscle Shoals resident, Dr. Mark Stuart Greenberg. 45 and 36 year-old Alisa Balentine. The charges are,  Violation of Schedule I-VII Drug Manufacturing, Using Inherently Hazardous Substances and Possession/Use of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on all of these charges, just like Greenberg and Balentine, Dearman could face 60-plus years in prison.

According to the Sheriff, Dearman posted a $60-thousand bond and was released.

Dearman and Greenberg are scheduled to appear in Wayne County Court for a first appearance hearing on January 14. Balentine’s case has been bound over to the Wayne County Grand Jury.
