Jesse Roosevelt Niblett Jesse Roosevelt Niblett, who was well known by his friends and family as J.R., passed in peace on January 5, 2020 at the age of 62.

J.R. greeted his father J.C. Niblett and his granddaughters, Olive Guzman and Molly Claire with arms wide open and great big bear hugs.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Louise Niblett; his brother, Danny Niblett; and his sister, Judy Niblett. He also left behind his five daughters and son in laws, Abby (Terry) Kennedy, Amy (Ralphael) Guzman, Kasie (Ashley) Sloan, Amanda (Carl) Toon, and Tabitha (Chris) Long. He will also be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Trinity, Landon, Kallie, Grant, Gabriela, Summer, Hannah, Dustin, Payton, Kaylee Jo, Brantlee, Braylen, Kameron, Kamila, Ellie, Nate, Ashton, and Baylen.

J.R. was born in Alabama on August 6, 1957. Although he loved to travel, throughout the United States, he always called the little community of Corner Alabama his home.

He graduated from Corner High School in 1977. Shortly after graduating, he went to Birmingham in search of a job. He eventually settled at the UAB Post Office, where he retired after 25 years. He held the title of many things for 62 years. He was a son, father, brother, bus driver, postal worker, fisherman, and friend; but his most favorite title of all was “Paw Paw”.

In the years after becoming disabled he enjoyed road trips with his family and fishing excursions with his uncle. He also enjoyed preparing and stocking up on emergency gear and collecting unique gadgets.

J.R. will be forever remembered for his big smile and great hugs. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in Heaven watching over us.

Friends and family are welcomed to pay their respects at Bagley Church of God on Hwy 78, Dora, Alabama Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a memorial service to celebrate his life. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 where the memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Bishop Tyler R. Keene will officiate.
