Limestone County Man Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting

ELKMONT-On Sunday, January 5 at around 5PM the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department answered a Domestic Violence call on Sugar Way in Elkmont that resulted in an officer-involved shooting.

According to the Sheriff’s Office George Dison, 57 died at the scene after coming from the woods with a loaded shotgun,  pointed at the deputies answering the call at which time deputies returned fire killing Dison.

This was the second call received by the Sheriff’s Office from the Sugar Way address.  The first call came in around 11 AM.

The case is under investigation with help from the State Bureau of Investigation.  More information on the shooting should be available later today.
