Two Separate Burglaries In Florence Four Suspects Arrested

FLORENCE-On Tuesday, December 31 the Florence Police Department released information on two burglary cases they have been working from Sunday, December 29:

“On 12/29/19, Patrol Units were dispatched to a home burglary in progress. The call gave a vehicle description and stated that they were loading appliances into the back of it.

An officer observed a vehicle meeting the description and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, it was determined that the vehicle and the occupants were involved in the burglary. The three subjects in the vehicle, Karen R. Ezro, 36, James R. Wooten, 45 and Wayne L. Grubbs, 38 were transported to the Police Department for questioning. After speaking with the detective, all three subjects were charged with Burglary 3rd and Theft of Property 4th.”

“On 12/29/19, patrol units were dispatched to a vehicle burglary. After speaking to the victim, contact was made with security to review camera footage.

During the time frame, the vehicle was parked in the parking lot; it showed a white male enter the vehicle and then leaving carrying a bag.  A short time later, security called back to the PD and advised that they observed the same male enter another vehicle and leave.

A traffic stop was made, and the occupants were identified. Based on the video, the passenger was identified as the person that broke into the vehicle. Officers arrest Carl Pigg, 54 for the break-in and the theft.

Officers also located the property that was taken from the vehicle. Mr. Pigg was charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property 2nd.”
