Gloria Constance Chapman, age 95, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Summit Medical Center.
Gloria was born October 2, 1924 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Alfred Fitzgerald Coy and the late Lena Louise Walters Coy. This small woman with a larger than life personality served as deacon at her home church, Priest Lake Presbyterian. She was always generous with her time, food, and anything else she had to give to another.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019, beginning at 1:00 pm at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN.
Gloria is survived by her son: Peter Chapman; daughters: Sharon Ann Ritchie (Brent) and Allison Hurst; grandchildren: Brian (Stephanie) Waye and Sarah Ritchie; brother: Trevor Fitz-Coy as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews abroad. She was preceded in death by her husband David Chapman, Sr.
