FLORENCE-The sales of homemade crafts by volunteers for Chloe’s Fund were very successful at the previous Chloe’s Fund Bake & Crafts Sale; our volunteers have decided to give it another go for our last fundraiser of this year!  The homemade sweet treats will be in abundance along with our wonderful crafts from 8am-3pm on Friday, December 13 at the Florence-Lauderdale Government Building, located at 102 S. Court Street (the building with time and temperature on top) in downtown Florence. Come early – people love to buy our baked goods as well as our one of a kind craft items! We’ve had an unusually high amount of veterinary bills recently and we need your help! All proceeds from these sales benefit Chloe’s Fund in helping with medical expenses for local animals and many at Florence Lauderdale Animal Services.

Chloe’s Fund was started in March of 2017 after Shelter volunteers, Glen and Debby Nelson lost their beloved dog of 16 years, Chloe. After Chloe’s passing, Debby set out on a mission to help as many sick and injured Florence-Lauderdale Animal Shelter animals as possible. Since its inception, Chloe’s Fund vetted countless number of cats and dogs suffering from various illnesses and in need of medical attention and medication. Prior to Chloe’s Fund, the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter could not treat every unwell cat or dog that entered its doors. Their only hope was the possibility of a rescue organization stepping up and financing the needed veterinary care. For those animals with costly medical bills predicted and no rescue hero in sight, our dedicated shelter employees were faced with heartbreaking decisions; these decisions never get easier and no one ever willingly wants to make them.

With your help, Chloe’s Fund can continue to save the lives of hundreds of animals!
