Judy Page Mitchell, 72, of Huntsville passed away peacefully at Hospice Family Care on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

She was born in Waynesville, Tennessee, on October 6, 1947. Judy graduated from Waynesville Township High School, Class of 1965. In the early 1980’s, Judy moved to Huntsville, Alabama, along with her sister, Brenda Page, her son, Thomas Charles Mitchell, and her mother, Thelma
Davis Page. She received an Associate degree in Applied Science from Calhoun College in 1982.

Judy worked for Sears for many years before joining the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in 1986. She delivered mail along the same route at Waterford Square apartments for over 20 years! Judy loved her walking route in the rain or shine and all the friends she made
along the way. During her tenure at the USPS, Judy served as MDA Coordinator for NALC Branch 462 for many years and performed many other duties for the branch as well.

She became friends with Maureen Curran while they both worked at Sears and their friendship remained strong to the very end. Judy was an “adopted” member of the Curran family. All six of the Curran siblings and their spouses, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren considered Judy as another grandmother to them. She will be forever remembered for her steadfast love of all things Auburn and the Chicago Cubs.

Judy loved vacationing in Gulf Shores and the numerous trips to New Orleans with her friends so they could eat great food and play the slots!
She was well known for her annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at her house on Lauderdale Road.

Survivors include her cousin, Joyce Pace Bridges of Waynesville, North Carolina, and by many dear friends, including her caregivers, Maureen Curran and Xan Curran.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Page and Thelma Davis Page; husband, Tommy Mitchell, sister Brenda Page, and son Thomas Charles Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Cole officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Children’s Advocacy Center or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
