Saundra "Sandy" MonroeSaundra “Sandy” Monroe,76, of Culleoka and formerly of Allen Park, MI passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy was born on January 3, 1943 in Delray, MI to the late Vernon Ferris Binkley and Asalee Goodwin Binkley. Sandy and her husband, Gordon Monroe have been married for 62 years. She attended The First Family First Baptist Church of Columbia and was a member of the Forever Young small group. She also previously served on The “Weekender” Ministry. Sandy ran a daycare for over 30 years where she touched the lives of several children and their families. Sandy Loved the Lord, her family, and gospel music. She always made sure that her grandchildren knew that she and Jesus loved them.

In addition to her Husband, Gordon, Sandy is survived by her Children, Keith (Nancy) Monroe, Kenneth (Jackie) Monroe, Kirk (Correna) Monroe, Brad Monroe, and Meghan Monroe; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Services for Sandy will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Steve Livengood officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Sunday before the service starting at 12:30 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Monroe, Peyton Monroe, Gordon L. Monroe, Landon Monroe, Ken Monroe, Brad Monroe, and Jr. Pallbearer, Chaseten Monroe.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Forever Young small group, First Baptist Church of Columbia, Hospice Compassus, Dan Geb, Jim Brown, Susan Wright, Becky Teravest, Bernadette Ratkowiak, and Shirley Mason.
