ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a statement concerning a break-in on Sunday, November 10:

“Sunday morning, November 10 the police department received a call from 413 Hoffman Street. The victim told officers there back door glass had been broken and the door was open.

The victim suspected Christopher Jarrod Leggett from threats he had made toward the victim in the past. Officer Bobby Hand and Lt. Brett Constable located Leggett at his residence on Thomas Street. Leggett said he had made a mistake then get scared and left when the victims dog started barking. Leggett was arrested for burglary second degree. He was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
