ATHENS-In honor of Veterans Day, may music heal our wounds and soothe our heartaches as we remember lives lost, honor those still with us and strive for peace…

Caleb Doughty, age 17, a Vanderbilt University student from Athens, Alabama, plays in a Limestone County cotton field for the global music project called #iPlay4Peace.

Caleb learned of the Armistice Day project through the City of Athens and its Sister City partnership with the Stonehaven & NE Scotland Twinning Group with assistance from University of Aberdeen professor Neil McLennan.

As part of the project, musicians from around the world join together to play in harmony for Armistice Day. Caleb played this summer in Italy with the Rome Music Festival Orchestra, and will perform locally at High Cotton Arts on Nov. 24 as part of Christmas Open House.
