Mr. Tom B. McWhorter, age 87, of Arab, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Shepherds Cove Hospice in Albertville.
Mr. McWhorter was born on June 18, 1932 to Carlos B. McWhorter and Annie B. Growers McWhorter in Cullman County Alabama. Mr. McWhorter was in our U.S. Army and in the Alabama National Guards. Mr. McWhorter was a member of the Arab First Baptist Church and lived in Arab for most of his life. He was a member of the Arab Masonic Lodge 663, the Cahaba Shiners’ in Huntsville, a Shriners’ Road Runner and an American Legion. Mr. McWhorter loved to travel every chance he got in his lifetime; he had visited all fifty states.
Mr. McWhorter is survived by his wife of 7 years, Ms. Pauline “Polly” Robertson McWhorter; son, Tommy McWhorter; daughter, Mary Jane McWhorter; brother, Dennis McWhorter (Sarah); sister, Trudy Hayes. Mr. McWhorter is preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Douglas McWhorter; second wife Betty Jean Lowery McWhorter; brother Carlton McWhorter.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Caleb Godfrey, Jason Allen, & Chris McWhorter officiating.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
