James "Doug" Douglas VickJames Douglas “Doug” Vick, age 76, died on November 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was born on January 18, 1943 to John Kenneth (George) Vick and Estelle Brooks Vick. He was a Christian since early in life and most recently a member of Glendale United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Hampshire High School class of 1961. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Doug was a long-time resident of Maury County including the Culleoka community for twenty years. He was a member of the Culleoka Lions Club and Columbia Elks Lodge. He recently moved to Toney, AL to support granddaughter Annsley, pursing barrel racing passion. In his last several years, due to declining health, he loved watching Andy Griffith, videos of Annsley Barrel Racing, country music, but most importantly he loved spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
Doug retired as Owner and Operator of Vicks Grocery and Restaurant in Culleoka, Owner and Operator of Lucille’s Restaurant, Vicks Sign Painting Co, Vicks Body Shop, Vanderbilt Chem Co. in Murray, KY, and Pepsi Colo Bottling Co.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Frank Smith and Tommy Vann officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Mausoleum.

Doug is survived by loving wife of forty-nine years Judy Keiran Vick; daughters Keri (Dennis) Vick Ferral and Leslie Vick Morrow; granddaughters Annsley Morrow – a special granddaughter who worshipped her Papa, Jessica (Michael) Nix; grandson David Creasy; great-granddaughter Brooke Nix; great-grandson Cameron Nix; sisters Ethel Mary Shultz, Jeanette (Bobby) Lovell, and Linda Vick; brother and sister in-law Frankie and Charlotte Keiran; and nieces and nephew Brenda Raasch, Michelle Keiran, Deborah Shultz, and Jay Keiran.

Preceded in death by son Lance Corporal James Douglas Vick II; mother Estelle Brooks Vick; father John Kenneth Vick; grandparents Will and Ethel Brooks and Smith and Helen Vick; mother and father-in-law Jim and Gertie Keiran.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Curry, Frankie Keiran, Jimmy Vick, Steve Farris, Jerry Vick, and Steve Gandee.

Family would like to say a special thanks to Emcompass Hospice; Debra Jefferson, his hospice nurse; Dr. Elizabeth Willers; Dr. Shawn Gentry; St. Thomas ICU Nurse Shelley; St. Thomas Hospital staff; longtime friend Janice Brandon.
