Susan Carter Bowser, 67, died at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville on Friday, November 8, 2019, after a long illness.

She attended Butler High School, and at the age of 19, she met and married David Bowser, of Dubois, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Bowser graduated from nursing school at Calhoun Community College with honors. She served as a nurse and charge nurse with Crestwood Hospital, and as a home health nurse with Amedisys Home Health Care, also of Huntsville.

Mrs. Bowser was a life-long animal lover and supported the Greater Huntsville Humane Society. She was also a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband, David; and their daughter, Sarah Nuss, of Owens Cross Roads; three grandchildren; and her sister, Jackie, of Memphis, Tennessee. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 12 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel with Pastor David Carter and Pastor Shane Perry officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Bowser requested that donations be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society or to the ASPCA.
