James William "Bill" Latimer, Jr. Mr. James William “Bill” Latimer, Jr. age 83 of Athens, AL passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his home. Mr. Latimer was born on August 11, 1936 in Cartersville, GA to James William Latimer, Sr. and Margaret Clark Latimer.

Mr. Latimer is survived by his wife, Mildred Dobbs Latimer; son, Mike Latimer and wife Stephani; daughter, Michelle Terry; grandchildren, Tyler Terry (Hayden), Brandt Latimer (Megan), Lacy Beth McMunn (Nick) and Lauren Edwards (Chase); 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Phoebe L. Cornett.

Mr. Latimer was a member of West Hobbs Church of Christ where he was an elder and song leader. He owned Dobbs Shoe Service for 38 years and was County Commissioner for District 3 for 16 years. Mr. Latimer was an officer on RCD Board/ Tarcog Board of Directors and a member of Community Action.

Services for Mr. Latimer will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Irby officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Terry, Dean Cornett, Brandt Latimer, David Hargrove, Brian Hargrove and Chase Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.
