Virginia Rogers was called home on November 5, 2019. Virginia was born July 7, 1929 in Hazel Green, Alabama to Gussie E. Lynch and Mentia Woodis Davis.

 

Virginia married the love of her life, Douglas P. Rogers, in 1946. They had two daughters, Sherry & Linda, while they lived in Alabama and in 1951 they moved to Michigan, where their daughter, Janis, was born. Virginia enjoyed reading, Bible study, worshiping the Lord at Flint River Baptist Church, working puzzles and spending time with her family.

 

Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas P. Rogers, by her parents, Gussie E. Lynch and Mentia W. Davis, her five sisters, Susie Davis, Bettye Jo Stone, Reba Brown, Peggy Jones and Nina Peterson, one brother, Bobby Davis, and her son-in-law, Kenneth Ray.

 

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Sherry Seeber (Ron) of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Linda Ray of Huntsville, Alabama, and Janis Childers (David) of Coldwater, Michigan; her brother, John William Lynch (Betty) of Huntsville, Alabama; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the funeral beginning at 12:00 pm at Spry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Charity Baptist Church Cemetery in Hazel Green, Alabama.

 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
