Florence Police Make Arrest In Sunday Knife Attack

FLORENCE-On Friday, November 1 the Florence Police Department released a press briefing on an incident involving a victim being assaulted with a knife.   An arrest has been made in this case:

“On Sunday, October 27, 2019, the Florence Police Department responded to North Alabama Medical Center for a reported assault with a knife. The victim, a 43 year old male, advised he had been involved in an altercation with another male while at a Halloween Party at a residence in the 2200 block of Shade Avenue. During the altercation, the victim received multiple lacerations from an edged weapon.

The Florence Police Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division responded to Shade Avenue, processed the scene, and interviewed witnesses. During the investigation, Wallace Earl Beckwith, a 52 year old male, was identified as the suspect.

On Thursday, October 31, 2019, the Florence Police Patrol Division located and arrested Mr. Beckwith for Assault 2nd Degree in connection with the incident. The victim is recovering from his injuries.”
