Funeral service for John Henry Cryer, 84, will be Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Anthony Laster officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Turney Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Cryer died on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was born  July 29, 1935, in Morgan County to Hammond Elijah Cryer and Lily Bell Gibson Cryer.

He was employed by Jax Mold and Machine as a machinist prior to his retirement. He was an active member of Florette Church of Christ. He is a veteran of the National Guard where he served, 26 years, 6 months and 10 days, after which he served 7 years 2 months and 20 days in the Reserve, and 3 years of Active duty. He was awarded the National Defense Service medal, four- Army Comp Achievement medals, Eight-FSMAL and a VSMAL achievement Awards. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Two Sons:
Bobby Gene Cryer and
Scotty Elijah Cryer

Two Daughters:
Shelia Diane Cryer and
Connie Denise Cryer Laster

One Brother:
Joe Cryer

Two Sisters:
Alice Anton and
Shirley Vogler

Thirteen Grandchildren
Twenty one Great Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Bruce Cryer, Jonathon Cryer, Chris Cryer, Matt Mayfield, Anthony Cryer, Russell Dale Cryer, Braxton Cescutti and Devin Harris .
