James Curtis May, 96 of Winfield, Alabama died Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama.

Curtis was born on January 28, 1923 in Fayette County, AL as son of Cly Felix May and Annie McDonald May. He was raised in Fayette County where he attended Wayside School. He worked on the family farm until joining the United States Navy in 1944. After his discharge from the Navy he made his home in Birmingham where he worked as a truck driver for Superior Trucking until his retirement in 1986. After his retirement he returned to his family farm in the Wayside Community where he was a member of the Wayside Church. While there he worked as a pulp-wooder for some time and enjoyed working in his yard, farming, and gardening.

Visitation:  11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Miles Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.

Funeral Service:  12:00 p.m., following visitation, at the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home.

Burial:  Siloam Cemetery.
