Bernice Kerk Choate, 96, daughter of Victoria Jenik Kerk and Howard Burton Kerk, passed away October 8, 2019.
Bernice grew up in Nebraska and came to Huntsville to work with NASA for many years. She loved Huntsville and had many happy retirement years playing golf, traveling, gardening, walking, and loving the outdoors. She always looked forward to her “First United Methodist Church” Sundays when she was still able to go. There were nice years of being involved with her granddaughters while they grew up here in Huntsville.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Janice J. Choate Wootten; granddaughters, Shanna J. Wootten and Heather N. Wootten; brother, Willard M. Kerk (Rosie); extended family; surviving family members of six deceased siblings; and grandson, Mitchell D. Bartecki, son of deceased daughter, Camillea Choate Bartecki Dunne.
