Widespread Operation By FBI And DEA Across North Alabama Net Several Arrests

TENNESSEE VALLEY-Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williams says the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department has been working with federal authorities, including the Drug Enforcement Agency and FBI, on part of a federal law enforcement operation.  Williamson confirmed that four subjects were wanted in Colbert County and two were already in custody and two more were taken in today.

The FBI, DEA and other law enforcement agencies conducted a mutual operation across North Alabama on Wednesday, October 9 according to an FBI spokesman.  The spokesman from the FBI also said this operation could go into Southern Tennessee as well.

Law enforcement in Colbert, Lauderdale, Morgan, Madison, Jackson, Dekalb and Lawrence counties have been involved.  Five arrests have been made in Lawrence County during this operation other agencies have not reported arrests to date.

As many as 40 people are reported to be in custody so far today in relation to the operation, according authorities from Morgan County.
